Named after the late Scott Fithian, one of the founding members and leaders of this organization whose passion for philanthropic advising continues to be highly recognized, the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy (AiP) recognizes annually an individual with a distinguished career in service to the philanthropic community.

Scott Fithian is widely considered a pioneer through his innovative and ground-breaking work in the area of values-based financial and legacy planning. He was founder of The Legacy Companies, Boston and his methodology continues to inspire advisors and their clients to approach their planning in a more meaningful way.

Fithian Award honorees are chosen for their efforts to uphold the standards of excellence in ethics, service and charitable planning encouraged by the Association. Specifically, the Fithian Award recipients have elevated the profession of philanthropic planning beyond their own practice.

“It was an honor to receive this award, but what I realized is it truly goes to ALL my AiP colleagues who are doing great work for families across this great nation.   It struck me…..this award is for all of us who serve families through intentional professional collaboration, the outcome of which is guiding families in Leaving a Lasting Legacy for generations to come, always building on the Spirit of Generosity!”  Alan Pratt
